The Work for Dummies

The Fourth Way for the rest of us.

Tomorrow lunchtime, 10th February, United play City in a Premier league soccer match. The significant of the game is that it marks the 50th anniversary of the Munich air crash in which half of the Manchester United team perished. As a mark of respect there will be a 1 minute silence before the game and all the talk in the build up to the match is whether the Manchester City fans at the game will respect the silence. They are bitter rivals and there will be approximately 3000 City supporters amongst a 75,000 crowd. My question to everyone is about the people who are constantly focussing on the potential trouble - both the general media and general public. Are they as asleep as the ones who may possible spoil the silence? This intrigue that people have with 'trouble' is hardly the most positive way to focus ones energy but nearly everyone I have met this week seems to have fallen into the trap......including me! Does this happen at sporting events in the US?

Do we love negative emotions in the U.S.? It would be fair to say that men numbers one, two and three love negative emotions in any place or epoch. We love them in sports, church, politics, war, marriage, etc.

You say, Are they as asleep as the ones who may possible spoil the silence? Of the nearly eighty thousands of people how many do you suppose will be in the third state of consciousness? What's going to happen? The same thing that always happens with us. History repeats because sleeping people do not awaken mechanically. I won't be at the match so don't look for me. *smile*
What happened?
James the minutes silence was very well observed by both Ud and City fans. City surprisingly won the game 2-1, much to my delight as that won me £300. There was some hype in the papers before the game about the minutes silence. Frankly if the papers hadn't mentioned this it may have passed without comment. This is not an unusual situation these days. Do you watch TV or read the papers? How do you feel about what you see / hear?
I do not watch TV or read the papers. Sometimes people tell me things that are going on. My response to what I hear is that the world does what it does because it can't do anything else.
I dont think you are referring to the result but I will tell you anyway, Manchester City won at Old Trafford for the first time in 34 years!

With regards to the silence, it was observed immaculately within the stadium which was a great start.

However, those in charge of security were not relying on man number 1, 2 and 3 to maintain their silence through sheer respect......and they gave them an added incentive of not being banned for life from attending a game if they spoiled the silence! It is funny how conscious this can make people!

Unfortunately some 'deep sleeping' characters outside the stadium decided to let of some very loud and large fireworks which overshadowed the silence and created a great deal of noise. I am sure they felt very proud of their acheivements and will be talking about it in years to come!
James, they couldn't do anything other than what the did. They had to react the way they reacted because that's the kinds of machines they are. We, on the other hand, are the kinds of machines we are and so we react the way we do. We're all just automatons at this level. The very slight difference is that we are trying to awaken which makes a very slight difference very large for the moment.
